Awards night done right: how to pick the perfect playlist
Festival season is in full swing here in the UK, with everyone from vintage rocker Rod Stewart to American rapper Doechii performing in a park near you this summer. We’re not saying your awards ceremony needs a live set from rock royalty, but music does play a massive part in setting the mood for your event.
You’ll obviously want some suitably triumphal tunes as your winners make their way to the stage, but don’t forget you’ll also need some uplifting songs to get everyone in the right mood as your ceremony starts, as well as some background music for the transitions between awards.
While we all love belting out ‘We are the Champions’ or ‘Eye of the Tiger’, it might be best to leave the cheesy classics for the karaoke booth, and go for some less obvious songs that celebrate success without being too clichéd. With that in mind, we’ve put together a carefully considered playlist that will strike the right chord (sorry!) at your event - find it on Spotify and let us know what you think!
